Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab team!

About the EP Lab

The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab RN provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology procedures.

In this highly specialized procedural environment, the RN works closely with electrophysiologists, advanced practice providers, and an interdisciplinary cardiac team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care before, during, and after EP procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiac nurse interested in expanding their expertise in cardiac electrophysiology and procedural nursing while joining a highly skilled cardiovascular team.

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides competent nursing care using critical thinking and the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, patient education, health promotion, and evaluation.

The RN demonstrates clinical knowledge and skills consistent with professional nursing standards and the specialized requirements of the EP Lab.

Education

  • Associate's degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Virginia RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license eligibility required
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

  • 2+ years of cardiac nursing experience required
  • Previous EP Lab, Cath Lab, cardiac procedural, cardiac ICU, or other relevant cardiac experience is highly valued

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 – $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
